Yasmine 2CV - Carburetor Maintenance

Finally acquired our "NEW" car. No kidding she is older than any of us. She will need a lot of attention & love, indeed her previous owner was clearly not caring for her and she unfortunately let us down on the side of the road on the way back home. After trying to recover her several time she refused to go any further. At 0100am it was about time to call for assistance. During this laps of time we replaced the carburetor and now it is time to rebuild it. Let's make it new. A project for D.I.Y

The carburetor dismounted and in hand, here we are, time to start! Dirty outside as you can see (not such a big deal) but the interior is in the same state and this is more problematic. Even worse, we noticed that some parts were even missing. The By-Pass Jet is reported unseen. We will have to purchase some parts to make it complete. When already at it, let's not do things halfway, we went straight to get the complete maintenance kit and to redo the carburetor like new.

Fresh coming out of the ultrasounds. It is not time to loose any of the numerous (tiny) pieces:

Nice and clean, this is already a small step towards a well functioning and good looking car. Before remounted the part inside Yasmine, still need to replace the butterfly screws as they are worn. And next week we will be in a good position to close the chapter of the carburetor and maybe install it back in the car so we can finish our trip back home.

It is like a brand new carburetor!!!! Great!!!!! It is time now to install it back inside the car and check if she is breathing better now.

JOB DONE!!!!

The Carburetor is back in place. The engine runs like a charm and clearly this carburateur is the nicest looking thing in the engine bay!!! Let's keep moving with the next Dust It Yasmine project.
