It's time to install some pipes and hoses on board. One part of the refit consist of a new proper plumbing installation. The new fresh water pipes come with little clips to install them - which looks very neat. Unfortunately we have not found any glue that is easy to handle and keeps them in place. The clips have a screw hole but we need to have mounting plates to screw them as we don't want to screw either in the hulls, floorboards or bulkheads. A new DYI project: clip support brackets - and it is a bit dusty again as Forex/Starboard is involved
The clips come in different sizes - depending on the diameter of the hoses to fit.
As "screws" are the best solution to hold the clips in place, that we have found so far. Our mission was to prepare little brackets that will be glued to the boat and than the clips can be screwed to those.
To have a good support of the pipes, the clips have to be installed every 30cm or less -> this means a lot of little brackets.
Please enjoy the pictures below - they are mostly self-explanatory ;-)
Once the supports for the bigger clips, a second patch of smaller ones will be cnc cut. Our Stepcraft 840 is doing a great job and cutting Forex / Starboard is pretty dusty but not to harsh on the machinery and tools.
